Chip in for the commons
Money for seeds, timber and water keeps the gate open. This page shows how giving might work. The form charges nothing.

Where it goes
What support would pay for
The garden’s costs are small, but they come round every season.
Seed stock
Topping up the seed library with varieties that don’t save easily.
Tools and repairs
Spades, secateurs and the occasional new wheelbarrow tyre.
Step-free beds
Timber and soil for raised beds at seated height.
Summer water
The tap runs a lot between December and March.
Give (demo)
Choose an amount
Amounts are illustrative. Try the form to see the flow; it stops before any payment step.
Give in kind
Useful things that would otherwise end up in a skip.
- Seed you saved yourself, labelled
- Hand tools in working order
- Clean glass jars with lids
- Plain cardboard for sheet mulching
- Untreated timber offcuts
- Seedlings you have too many of
Things we can’t take
Kindly meant, but they cause problems in a food garden.
- Treated pine or painted timber
- Garden chemicals of any kind
- Broken tools (unless you’re joining the tool shed crew)
About giving
Does this form take money?
No. It is a demonstration. There is no payment step, and no card details are ever requested.
Where would the money go?
A real collective would publish a short yearly note on what it spent and why. This concept has no accounts to publish.
Can I give time instead?
Yes, and plenty of people do. See the volunteer page.
